Picking the right child seat can be a challenge. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends children ride in rear-facing child seats until a minimum age of two years old. This is because rear-facing seats better protect their developing spines and reduce injury compared to front facing seats.

Unfortunately, these life-saving seats are terrible in the day-to-day, and if you've never had an accident, their value can seem lost. They cut off eye-contact between parent and child, and they cramp fussy toddler's legs.

Inspired by their recent lounge concept, Volvo has designed a new concept for the Volvo XC90. A new way to experience the child seat.

Chief Designer Tisha Johnson asked, "what else can we do with this space opened up by removing the front passenger seat?" She saw a way to make life easier and safer for parents and their children.

We would love to see a concept like this become available in new cars in our inventory. Until then, our expert staff at Jaffarian Volvo can show you all of our current safety features that make Volvo vehicles some of the safest out there.
